Dear Henry,

How are you doing? I am doing just fine. I just wanted to write you since I haven’t talked to you in a long time. I just wanted to see what new things you have done and tell you all the great things that I have accomplished since we last talked. I have a wonderful wife whose name is Idelette de Bure who happens to be a widow and has a son and a daughter from her previous marriage to an Anabaptist in Strasbourg. Idelette and I had a son but only at two weeks passed away.
I tried to put all my thoughts together thinking along the biblical lines and wanted to preach and teach what I thought what I believed the Bible taught. I preached Predestination. If you don’t know what that means that is, the idea that God had long ago determined who would gain salvation. People who were Predestined were to believe in God and they were Predestined to Heaven with our savior God. The people that were saved and were truly Christians were Predestined and going to Heaven.
